Structured, elegant, and un-fussy…it’s what the English do best.
And to kick off London Fashion Week, Ireland-bred designer Paul Costelloe appropriately embodies the new ideals of fashion.
A bit about Paul.
Raised in Dublin, then escaped to the St. Honore Hautes Coutures in Paris in his 20s. After several years in Paris, a brief residence in Milan, and a stint at Anne Fogarty in New York, Costelloe returned to Ireland to realize his own label in 1979, where he has been growing the brand for the past 30 years. When asked about his career highlight, Costelloe replied, “I’m still waiting for it”.
Highlights from the Spring/Summer collection: tailoring with pizazz, maxi dresses, and a silver lining…literally.
Inspirations: “Madeleine Vionnet, 1920s and 1930s reinterpreted with a rock’n’roll attitude.”
