MB Fashion Week: Perry Ellis

Finally, men that look like men on the runway; dapper, out-doorsy but with a sophisticated presence– the Perry Ellis man is the one you want on your arm this season. The fresh color palette of creams, olive green, navy and gray is a welcomed change from the dark chilly colors we are used to seeing for winter. The cut of a few of the suit jackets have a Carey Grant feel to them– classical 50’s handsome but with a modern take. Little surprises such as the color block sweaters and jackets and a cream sweater with a vertical diamond design peaking underneath a gray blazer give this collection a unique character but with a subtle color palette that is more realistic for the everyday man.
Favorite piece: at the end of the show, when we are expecting the models to return in their same outfits, they come out in the same 50’s inspired long sleeved sweatshirts with “Football” imprinted on the chest, each model wearing a different color of the same sweatshirt.
