Work to Weekend Wear: Italian Romance

Screen shot 2013-03-13 at 8.56.54 PMI LOVE these warm spring days, they remind me of romantic afternoons strolling through town in Milano, Italy.  Alas, our offices don’t appeal to our European alter-egos… le sigh… but that doesn’t mean that we can’t dress the part!  There’s nothing better than a fun flowy sequin top paired with a structured tomato red blazer and relaxed suit short, and this color combo screams ROMANTIC! For a little added luxury, don a silky lace bralette underneath, even if no one else sees it, you’ll feel like a million bucks… it’s the perfect outfit for a long spring day, with enough comfort for the office and just the right amount of sultry sophistication!

Shop the look: Topshop red crepe neck jacket, Madewell sequin drape tank, Madewell ‘Laugh Cry Repeat’ shorts, Alice + Olivia laser cut mirrored pumps, Honeydew polka-dot bralette, Madewell skinny patent belt, DVF lips mini clutch

Prabal Gurung for Target.  It’s finally here and flying off the racks!  I know what you are thinking… another Target collaboration… yawn yawn.  But, this collection has some legitimately adorable pieces that are super cute and versatile.  Minimally, it’s worth it to take a look online to see if there’s anything you can’t live without (or that hasn’t already sold out)!

Happy Monday peeps!

Trends: The New Native

Native prints have been on-trend for several seasons now, but the new native look is less Tigerlily and more Navajo-chic.  Where last season saw the emergence of tribal prints, this season designers put a Western spin on the trend.  From Proenza Schouler’s Navajo blanket pants to Rodarte’s prairie coats, we are feeling the sumptuous ponchos, decadent tribal jewelry, and fringe-clad accessories from boots to bags.  This look is super wearable for fall and offers a world-traveler appeal that (let’s be honest) we’d all love to evoke in our staple wardrobe.  Test the trend with one staple item like this cozy Vera cardigan with a pair of skinny black denim, add a fringe suede boot, and you are in business.
