6 Tips For Changing Career Paths

pink adhesive note on white background with "i quit" noteYou’ve done it.  You’ve quit the soul-sucking job that used to leave you counting down the hours till the end of the day, and then frowning more than a little when you realized it was only Tuesday.  Good for you!  This life is too short to stay in a position (or industry for that matter) that you have to convince yourself “isn’t so bad” on a daily basis…

…now what? Well, what you’re not going to do is stress!! That doesn’t help anyone.  Maybe you were prepared and have another job lined up, but if you don’t, that’s totally okay too!  There are jobs to be had out there, and even if you don’t have a bulging savings or back up plan (read: parents’ couch) in place, there are excellent resources to help ease you into finding a new career that you actually want! Work to Weekend Wear: Parisian

Easy PBonjour, chiclets! I am having a romantic affair with midi/maxi skirts right now (I know, how French of me!) and thought I’d share an easy peasy way to channel your inner bon vivant for the office!

I’m all about being comfortable, but let’s face it, we don’t want to look sloppy either.  Pairing this breezy striped Bobo House tank with a blush tone is so effortlessly chic, yet totally comfy and office-appropriate! Add a floral scarf (floral + stripes = genius) and some fun Parisian accessories (Read: Eiffel Tower everything) and you’ll be the envy of the office! Psst! Check out Bobo House’s French inspired tees too… I’m a big fan!

rainbow_hat_largeIn anticipation of my upcoming Alaskan cruise, I started searching for other top cruise destinations, and wrote this little piece…

Lounging on deck all day before pulling into port at some Conde Nast Traveler hot spot will conjure your inner Deborah Carr (or Carey Grant for that matter) in An Affair To Remember.  While slightly more expensive than the backpacking-and-hostel routine, cruises are an excellent way to travel in style without having to plan out every little detail about your trip.  Whether you’re in the mood to cover as much ground as possible while you sleep, or you enjoy the thought of endless amounts of gambling, pre-paid dining and testing out your sea legs, you’ll want to choose your cruise destination for 2013 wisely.
